Interior Design Trends 2023

My 2023 home design predictions! All the visual input we get from our phones, tv and computers is leading us to the desire to pull back when picking finishes for our homes. Interior design trend for 2023 will include all the upscale-ness of 2022 but in a muted way. There will not be any huge contrasting in 2023 design.

Colors Trends 2023

It’s going to be a year for color! Not the jewel tones we saw a few years ago. This year the colors will be subtle. Take the deepest maroon color and move the brightens bar all the way up to lighten it up and smother the color.

You only get one color this year! Not only is the color selections subtle but you’ll take just one color and layer it up. You’ve heard the term “tone on tone”? Using different shades of the same color then use different textures to add interest.

It’s going to be simple, soft and comfortable for 2023.

The green in the picture is very earthy but may be darker than you’ll see in the coming year.

Interior Finishes 2023

We’ve seen such a variety of mixed metals in the last few years. 2023 you’ll see a new twist on this. This year you can use any one metal to be on trend but mix it with a matte black. This will add a lot of sophistication to your glam. Sink faucets in chrome contrasted with matte black accents and cabinet pulls. I would like to see matte black drawer pulls with gem accents! What do you think?

Speaking of pulls, it’s time to change your door knobs again. You probable already of the black lever door pulls. So, of course, the matte black will carry through but round door knobs will be all the rave in 2023.

Your Bathroom

My final prediction for interior design trends 2023 is the bathroom. A soaking tub in the main bathroom is a thing of the past. But if you do still want a bathtub, put it in the shower room that is all the rave. The main focus is definitely the shower room. I call it a room because it will be a space to unwind and spend sometime. It needs to include multiple shower heads, a place to sit and be large enough for two.

Design Predictions 2023

Be sure that there will be different ideas for the next year but this is MY opinion on trends we’ll see in the next 12 months. I’m predicting that 2023 is going to be filled with soft finishes and muted colors. This is going to be such a calming atmosphere. With all that has gone on in our world in the last several years, this serene home interior will be very welcome.
